Default Looking to build a block

Hows it going. Well I've decided to build the bottom end of a D16z6. What would advice could you guys give me. I have never built a engine before and I don't want to waste money and blow the motor so any advice shared would great tools, lubes, parts etc etc.

what kind of power are you looking to make?? A lot of people have had good success with Vitara pistons and shot peened LS rods. That is pretty inexpensive and works well. If you're going to want 350whp+, you should go with a set of CP pistons and Eagle rods

I'm only looking to make about 250-290 whp nothing to serious. Just something to have a little fun in.

Edit. What's all required to use LS rods inside a d16z6

well the less you do the more chances you have to blow your motor.

how much money are you looking to invest in the motor.

aftermarket rods and pistons and good ems and Fms will be needed definitly

personally i would use either CP pistons and eagle rods or if you wanted to cheap out a little bit, you could use the Vitaras and Eagle rods...
