is there any disadvantage on using a backdoor intercooler? i can see its close with the radiator but im sure i can make it work..

ok dudes. i have stock injectors as of now. this guy is selling some 550cc injectors from his DSM.
he replies back to me:
since i have the resister already, i should just get this peak/hold injectors correct? and it will work for my lsv right? just wanna get some answers before i take the step to buy it.

Re: Looking to Boost. a Few ??s
im piecing a kit together at the moment too, and have a question. Does anyone know if a oil restricter is required for the turbo and if so would that go before that attachment of the feed line? Thanks.
heres what i got so far still need a few things
bone stock b16
-t3/t4 50 trim turbonetics
-treadstone cast manifold (thinking of getting a log instead)
-godspeed intercooler and piping
-turbonetics evo wastegate
-ebay dumptube
-blox vacumm manifold
-autometer boost gauge

Re: Looking to Boost. a Few ??s
ok guys. its been a dead thread. but now its time to finish this up. as stated in the other comment last page. yes i can bare to go to work without my car (i work with my cousin and i hitch a ride). so now the car is under going a full make over. jdm front end, body work and paint. then the turbo.
i have not gotten anything new for the turbo besides my ic pipings and a 25x11x3 intercooler from ebay (only thing worth buying i heard) also got some RC 550cc injectors.
i need to reweld my waste gate flange cause the ram horn has it sit where it hit my chassis to the point where i cant even mount the wg. i will be buying a new down pipe and dump tube next week from projectdc2 here on ht (spoolin performance, fremont ca).
also got my half rad in with slim fan for better fitment.
now reason for bumping this thread.
ive asked this question and yet have not gotten a legit response:
hey guys, i havent got a straight answer on this but.
all i want is a simple yes/no. if yes how do i got about telling phearable.net on doing this map?
if no..ill just get a po6 converted vtec and get rid of my vtec in my tach.
now if i got a po6 converted, phearable.net gives me several additional options.
where should i set my 2 step to if im running 24' slicks? or should even get it at all??
im not doing the cel shift light cause imma just use my tach shift light since the tach is staying in my car cause of my dx cluster (no, im not getting an si cluster)
should i just set the rev limitor to 8200 (stock internal) or have it at no rev limitor?
where should i set my vtec? my lsv has it at 5k and i love it there. should i have it at 5k? since i heard about a bit of spooling lag with this manifold..
i want to get a response asap for recommended set points so i can do ahead and order my ecu.
will also be getting a new water pump/oil pump. arp rod bolts and race bearings. probably a stage 2 clutch.
do i need a oil catch can?

hey guys, i havent got a straight answer on this but.
i have an lsv soon to be turbo'd. i have an ls ecu chipped no rev. my vtec controller is in my tach and i would just love to leave it that way. its obd0 btw. im converting to obd1 and wanting to use the p06 chipped with my setup's spec (with 550cc injectors) would anyone (phereable.net) chip a po6 non-v with an lsv-t map with an external vtec controller? i heard that people can chip and set a basemap for the lsv and have it change over to a different map when vtec kicks..i must be stupid and sound retarded right now, but i would like to get an answer. thanks.
by converting to vtec that means the po6 will have vtec set to what ever i set it at correct? but i have a vtec controller. or can someone explain to me what converting a po6 to a vtec ecu is. dont flame me cause i dont know this. everyone learn new things everyday. cut me some slack.
let me elaborate on what im trying to say.
my car right now has an LSVTEC. it has an obd0 LS ecu (non-vtec) with no rev limitor. i have an external vtec controller which is my tachometer. the shift light is not being used as a shift light so what ever i set my shift light to (5K) it sends power to my vtec solenoid (with a relay of course) to activate my vtec.
what im asking is can i use a po6 with the map set for 550 injectors on an lsvtec-t setup and not have it lean out (starving for fuel) when vtec kicks and with the turbo spooling at the same time?

oh and btw you will need a rev limiter with boost even though its 8psi 2nd gear rips rap extremely fast and thats a good way to f things up

Re: Looking to Boost. a Few ??s
the reason your dumptube goes right into your compressor on your turbo is because thats an ac compatable manifold and the turbo should be on the other side ;-), you can either turn it around and run it the way its meant or get a new manifold , or reweld a flange. oh and my hatch had 280whp full interior and street tires and ran a 12.9 1/4 mile.

Re: Looking to Boost. a Few ??s
fuzzy: im going all obd 1 and gonna get my stuff ordered from phearable.net all at once. i guess that makes sense about the limitor. ill just set it at 8200rpm.
4drdohc: thats an old pix. what i did was cut that waste gate elbow/flange and going to get it rewelded pointing forward under my t-bar. the waste gate dump tube is going to be pointed the opposite side of the compressor housing as well.
but can someone answer my other questions please? i want to order the ecu while i have the money, but im looking for recommendation for settings.

TTT
i was thinking
redline 8200rpm
vtec @ 5000rpm
map with 550cc injectors
2 step @ 6000rpm
eliminate knock & oil pressure sensor cause my car runs fine without it right now.

Re: Looking to Boost. a Few ??s
i suggest going to obd1 for tuning purposes. i dont recall many people still using turboedit for obd0.
depends if the injectors are saturated or peak/hold to require a resister box.

well if you have it now without information, i guess the best way to find is to run the numbers on the injectors it self.
