How many of you turbo guys are using a full launch controller at the dragstrip? what do you set your rpms at?

6000 rpm here. I don't launch at WOT because it melts the slicks off the line otherwise (I have some really old 22" slicks).

5200rpm on Drag Radials at 11PSI tire pressure before heating them up.

You can run a lot of different combinations like higher revs and easing in the clutch or lower revs dropping the clutch in with low tire pressure etc etc. No one way to do it really. Seat time is the best way

does launching off the two step benefit your car with boost at all? because arent you in full boost already at aroun 5k 6k rpm?

No, I build maybe 1 PSI this is because there is no load on the engine it's only boncing off the limiter. To build boost off the line you need a SMALL turbo or use anti-lag which not many honda user due because it's pretty bad for the turbo/engine.

I use 2-step as a "consistent" launch. It keeps my mind on clutch and tire play and not have to worry about the gas pedal at all. On the street it's great because I consistenly get the same launch

that's cause it cuts the ignition. Uberdata/Crome/Hondata cut fuel instead which won't build a lot of boost

I have to part-throttle it or I roast the slicks in 1st (22" slicks). It's either the slicks or the clutch (ACT 6-puck), I'm not sure which yet

you have to watch with the 2-steps that cut ignition and not fuel, ive heard a few different horror stories about people throwing rods because of the ignition based 2-steps. hondata/ crome/etc seem to be the safer of the two types.

as for launch rpms, i have all season tires and i launch my turbo prelude at 4500. works pretty well.

Aren't people that use 2 steps (like MSD) also retarding their timing while the launch limiter is on? If so...so much.

hondata 2 step... set @ 3k and I modulate the gas after I let out the clutch... still cannot hook worth a **** on these crappy street tires.

not sure but it seems to me that it would be better to cut spark rather than fuel on a boosted car

Any thoughts on the timing retard on top of the spark cut?

That's called anti-lag and it's not good and THAT blows motors/turbos. Build boost hella well though and on a side note sounds mean
