your turbo can still boost.. but with a kink in the return line.. backpressure will build and oil will come out the seals and a lot of smoke will come out of your exhaust.. you need to fix the return line before driving it again... you can still ruin the seals driving slow

Re: kink in the oil return (hatchinprogress)
I had that happen to me once. I noticed the kink but didn't think it was an issue at first till I had a load of smoke coming out the exhaust. Once I took the air filter pipe off the turbo inlet is when I noticed the oil build up. Thank god it did not damage the seals, because I was already broke. I went to the hardware store and bought some metal springs, cut one down to size and pushed it through the rubber line and the kink was gone. It beat taking off that manifold again!

Re: kink in the oil return (turbo Si)
i fixed the kink an now when i drive it it still does not boost and doesnt rev past 4500 could that be a problem with the vacuum? now that its fixed there is a little smoke coming from the turbo itself so what could be the problems?
