99% sure the thermostat is opening b/c the bottom rad. hose gets hot and i was told it would overheat alot more if it was stuck closed.

bled the system twice

how do i check the water pump

To check if your water pump works, Run the car with cap off until the thermostat opens. Keep looking inside the radiator until you see the water circulating. If the water never looks like its flowing/circulating, then that water pump doesn't work.
