Default Inside a 60-1

Got bored tonite so i decided to open up my 60-1 and clean it up a little. Took lots of pics for you guys while i was measuring the wheels.

Specs:
Innovative Turbo Systems t3/60-1
60-1 wheel
T04s compressor housing
.70 a/r comp.
Stage 5 exh. wheel
.63 a/r exhaust housing

60-1 wheel
Inducer - 2.324"

Exducer - 3.000"

Stage 5 exhaust wheel
Exducer - 2.439"

Major - 2.798"

Center section, don't mind the black stuff on the exhaust side. It's just exhaust gas baked on it, the turbo has about 8k miles on it so far.

Compressor housing 4" inlet

Exhaust housing 2.450" outlet

Turbo back in the car

Happy boosting!

That precision piece looks to be of a higher caliber (as in quality).

Very nice indeed T.

how do you like that t3/60-1? what rpm does it spool at? and does it thrive over 12 psi? i just bought one and i am worried i may have made a wrong choice. how do you think it compares to a t4/60-1? if you had to do it again would you choose the same turbo? what are the pros and cons? is the turbo pleasing to the eye?(does it look big?)
thaNX in advance

That's the same one I got! Love it. 6psi by 4500, 14psi by 5200. Punches my Kuhmo V700's loose in third sometimes when it hits. Michelins are useless. LOVE THAT TURBO!!!

So the "trim" of the 60-1 compressor is .60? What makes that different than a .60 TO4? Same thing?

A regular 60 trim on the T04E is housing is liek any regular 04E wheel, 6 blades, 60mm inducer and 2.95" exducer.
The 60-1 wheel are 7 blades, 59mm inducer and 3" exducer.

the 60-1 HiFi is on a regular T04E housing 3" Inlet and 2" outlet on a t3 cartridge, the standard 60-1 is on the T04S housing .70AR with 4" inlet and 2.5" Outlet on the t04 cartridge.

the HiFi series flows about 80-90% in comparison with the standard 60-1. The turbine wheel can be either one depending on the housing...stage 5 or stage 3.

At full load and WOT, the turbo makes 1psi at about 3500rpm and 12psi at 4900rpm. This is on a stock LS block and head.

What size DP and exh. are you running? Those rpm numbers are making me consider getting a 60-1 on my LS.

Ok, good info. I have another question. I just measured my exducer. I have an older Aireasearch T04 with a 4" inlet. The minor is 2.17" and the major is 2.75 The wheel has 8 double blades. Using this my trim is:

[(2.17)^2 / (2.75)^2] X 100 = 62 trim??? What the hell is that? I measured the minor at 55mm exactly so this is right.

what turbo do I have? Here is a picture: (t3/t4 w/ .48 turbine)

i guess this would be the right thread to ask this in.

im looking at my turbonetics catalog right now. im specifically looking at the specs on the T04e's vs. the t04b's.

to4b v-trim has a flow rate of 51lb/min
to4b H-trim flows 53lb/min

t04e 57trim flows 49lbs/min
t04e 60trim flows 50lbs/min

and for fun it says the t04b(is that really an S) 60-1 flows 57lb/min

now how come every turbo car ive seen running a t04e 57 trim makes like 30 more hp then a t04b vtrim. the vtrim has a higher flow rate??????? are these #'s in the catalog correct?
