Default Injector question...

Ok im buying a turbo kit from a buddy of mine and it consists of an HF manifold, t25 turbo, jrc front mount, ic pipes and 1g bov...i plan to run a 12:1 fmu just for temporary management untill i can get everything i need to run uberdata and i only plan to boost 5 psi while running the fmu...my question is would it be worth my time to throw in some injectors out of an h23 prelude, i dont want to spend the money on 450's since this whole setup is just temporary so i can have some fun this summer and i can get the h23 injectors for free...I just figured i could put them in and tune them down a little bit with an afpr and since they are a little bigger they wont get maxed out as easy from the fmu as my stock injectors would(by the way im running a d16y8) what are you guys' opinions?? i posted on superhonda and all they did is somehow get into a ******* arguement on what fuel pump i should use...

your ecu can not control injectors larger than stock. stick with your stock injectors until you get your uberdata set up. how much bigger are 'lude injectors anyway? the FMU doesn't care what injectors you have, it will still increase the line pressure the same anyway.

and regarding fuel pumps, use an inline pump with that FMU.

I got rid of my FMU when I went from 310 cc to 550cc injectors. The tuner had a hard time tuning when I had the FMU in the system. 550 cc running 7 psi is no problem, but then I also have the AEM EMS.

Im not sure how much bigger they are...i know the ecu cant control them i will adjust them down with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to get my a/f ratio right...and i know that the fmu doesnt care what size they are but i figure that by ruinning bigger injectors then stock there wont be as much of a chance of injector failure due to running my stock injectors at 100% duty cycle...also why do you say run an inline pump for sure? the guy im buying the kit from said i would be better off with a 255 intank...and he knows his ****! drives a 11 sec turbo eclipse that was tuned by him and also owns an MR2 and use to own a tt supra so he knows his **** when it comes to forced induction...

simple math. 12:1 at 7 psi is 84 psi, add your base pressure and your up at 124 psi of fuel pressure, the walbro can not provide that much pressure. check the flow charts. or not, just run it with a walbro. whatever. it's your car.

Alright. thanks for the explaination... So even the walbro 255 high pressure intank pump wouldnt be enough or what? i never really thought of looking at flow charts. i guess i just wanted the intank to make things a little cleaner but if its not a good idea then i wont... and also this is prolly a stupid question but when running a high pressure inline pump do you still leave the factory intank pump hooked up or what do you do? does the factory pump just get the gas to the inline pump then the inline pump jacks up the pressure or how does it work? i havent really looked much into the fuel system i guess so im kind of illiterate when it comes to this ****...

Thanks for all the help!

yep you leave the stock intank pump in place and they work together.

Im really not a fan of inline pumps... I have a turbo gsr, stock ecu, VAFC, 310 injectors, and run about 11 psi.

using this set up for 3-4 years now. I didnt like the idea of cutting fuel lines to put in-line pump in. So I did a Holley 255 inline.... been great ever since. good luck..
