Injector lag/dead time for Precision 50 lb/hr injectors
Giving a guy a basemap, and he's got high impedance 50 lb/hr Precision injectors. I've looked all over and can't find a listed lag/dead time(or known as injector onset time in some domestic circles).
Anybody got a reliable figure? I was thinking of a conservative 0.70-0.80 msec, but I'd really appreciate a more accurate value.
TIA

I find it hard to believe that you would even consider worrying about such a thing with a basemap. Thats like blindfolding a sniper, and then him asking the target's distance.

I'm tuning the factory ECU with a daughterboard.
Why would you NOT want to correctly set the injector lag time on a basemap? Most injectors have this information published somewhere after being measured(usually by the manuf..
Unlike a MAP based car, with a MAF you if you have the inj. lag time and global constant correctly set, the AFR will be very very close to what target AFR you specify in a cell. So yes, this is important...

So no one has any idea? I thought Precision injectors were commonly used by the Honda crowd...

No offense, but Wow is that ever a misguiding/ignorant statement. The lag time is a very important piece of the puzzle....

If it is the injector I am thinking about, it is a very common injector. (two toned black and grey? and if memory serves... part number ends in 34xx???) We have used these before with a lag/dead time of .4ms

Re: Injector lag/dead time for Precision 50 lb/hr injectors (tony1)
call up precision and ask them. i just tuned my car with RC injectors, and had to call up RC to get the lag time. theirs is 1.4 m/sec
stock honda according to a book is .90 m/sec, but i'm not positive how accurate that is.
and it is pretty important even for the base, if lag isn't set up right, the fuel won't inject at the proper timing and will be too lean or rich in certain instances.
good luck with that
