Default IHI RHB5

I just bought a IHI RHB5 and I want to know what kind of manifold would fit on it. Also there's something that looks like a solenoid with 2 wires comming out of it and 2 line that would look like oil or coolant.

There are a few different RHB5s. Which one do you have? Got pics? Numbers? Know what it came from?

That's the solenoid I was talking about, you can see the wire...This is not my actual turbo I took this picture off homemadeturbo.com. I will get a picture of mine as soon as I get a camera.

Not sure if it can be taken out.. But it can be bypassed.. Just connect the nipple from the wastegate to the nipple on the compressor housing.. Or better yet, connect the nipple from the wastegate to the intake manifold and plug the nipple on the compressor housing..

it was probably wired up to a pressure sensor that closed the circuit when it reached a certain boost level. If you could find some way of testing it, maybe with a battery and an air hose or something, and if it worked, just go buy a hobbs switch, adjust it to the boost you want to run, an volia! HMT Boost controller for almost no cash.

Usally something like this is a PWM.. I would assume that you would need to find a frequency to operate it at to allow boost to enter to be vented from the line..

This is how the GM boost noid works but im not sure about this one..

Im almost positive you can unbolt it and remove it.. Either way you can bypass it..

Gotta love that.. I got my Garrett/Airesearch T3 .48/.42 from the junkyard for $50 and I got an intercooler for $20.. The guy at the junkyard was pissed because the intercooler was brand new and he didnt see it to pull it before hand..

It's aight wont make more then about 14.5 lbs of boost and thats blowing hot air. Its a fun little turbo for a first setup. THe biggest prob I has was with the oil pressure blowint the seals on the turbo :/

You might need to put an oil restrictor on the turbo.. Either that or the seals in the turbo are gone..
