Default Idleing and start-up problem

i have a 97 TEG turbo, setup:
B18b motor
t04e turbo
DSM 450cc injectors
Tuned at 6 psi with Uberdata

here is the problem, when ever i start the car in the morning the idle is around 2300 rpms, it seems to take 10 min for it to drop down to normal, while it is droping down the idle is really bad, it goes up and down, up and down, when i was getting the car tuned my tuner said it was because of the DSM injectors,

another problem is when the motor is hot from driving and i let the car sit for a half hour, i go and try to start it and it wont start, or sometimes it will start and then die right away, does anyone have the same problem, or know what the problem is, THANKS

Well.........isn't it the tuner's job to "TUNE" the car so the bigger injectors work??? Find a new tuner.

Try unplugging the EVAP PURGE SOLENOID.........worked for me. Since your running obd1, the purge solenoid opens on start up which causes the fumes from the canister to enter the intake mani.....which will cause your rich running car to run even richer on startup (my car would never start up when warm/hot, especially after i filled my tank with gas......it was embarrasing). Try it.

your tuner is wrong. typically low impodence injectors will respond faster than saturated injectors. There are some innate problems in using a low impodence injector with an ecu designed with high impodence in mind.

Far to many people have had 0 troubles with these injectors, and the fact that you have a shitty idle is because your tuner doesn't know his was around the software he used very well. (switch to crome for iat and coolant fuel and RPM changes. There is an option in crome to adjust idle rpm/collant temp. Or honda motors for that matter.

What are you using to tune? Go back and tell him you want a solid tune lol.... unless well i dont know you have to pay somone for thier time. Start with your solenoid. Download a helms manual. YOu can find it as a sticky on http://www.clubsi.com in maybe the tech forum? you can also try and search for it.

The helms will have everything and how to take it apart and put it together. it will describe in a few pages what i will try and give you in a few sentences.

Well with the DSM 450's do you have a resistor box? If not, your tuner might be right.

1. Check for vacuum leak
2. Clean IACV (idle air control valve). If you don't know where it is, get a helms manual.

my vag gauge shows a vac of 18 at idle and 21 driving, it wasnt doing this before i turboed it, so i dont think its the IACV

my car does the exact same thing and i am running RC 310cc's, usually runs at 1,900rpm till fully warmed up. i was told by my tuner that some people have this problem with uberdata 1.7 all the time. the tuners car does it also, i dont really think its too much to worry about, but when winter comes around the cold start up's may worry me a little more.

i dont know how u can say its an incomplete tune, there is 2 bars for idle, one for normal which is set at 800rpm and the cold idle is set for 1200, but it still revs at roughly 2000rpm's. is there a way to fix it other than just saying its incomplete

you either edit the map yourself or you go to your tuner and have him change the coolant temp based idle settings. Your fluctuating idle may be solved through other means, there are some problems using an obd1 ecu. There are many a thread that will explain this very well.

Hey TEG did you download Crome yet? This might help your problem. Keep me posted.
