idle problems (searched)
Alright so lately i've been having some idle problems. On cold starts my car would go up to around 2200 rpm and then slowly drop down to alittle under 2k then start surging. I would reach normal operating temp and it would remain surging from around 1k to 2k. I would turn the car off for about 30 min then start the car again and idle wouldn't surge, it would stay around 1200-1400 rpm until i would drive around alittle bit the surging would begin again.
So i check all my vac lines looking for a leak, which i found nothing. Then i procede to check my coolant to see if i may have any bubbles in my radiator, still nothing. Then i took apart my IACV, cleaned it out with brake cleaner and installed again. It cleaned up my idle a bit but still surges a bit and then suddenly stops and idles around 1600-1700 rpm.
So i was thinking could my FITV just be unscrewed and needed to be tightened again, or should i re-clean my IACV with something other than brake cleaner. I don't believe my FITV is loose because that controls cold starts correct? So basically it has to be my IACV? I appoligize if this has been covered numerous times, i'm alittle stumped and looking for some help, any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

when the car is hot plug the hole inside the throttle body with your finger and see if the fast idle is still open....you cna also take it off and shake it and see if it rattles....its most likely your problem

I think your evap purge solenoid is stuck open or has a leak......find the hose that goes from the solenoid to the intake manifold and disconnect it from the solenoid.... once you do, take the hose and plug it with your thumb when the car is on ...see if idle drops to normal (900-1000rpms).
If it does, than just unplug the evap solenoid(with obd2 you will get a cel).
Peace.

UPDATE!
so today after work i got a chance to really work on my car. the first thing i did was head straight for the FITV, took it apart, cleaned it out. that rubber peice was about half way unscrewed, so after cleaning it, i tightened it and installed everything where it should be. i started the car and the surging magically dissapeared hehe. after the car warmed up a bit the idle dropped down to around 900-1000, took it for a spin and everything is perfect.
just wanted to thank everybody who helped me out, thanks guys

No...its not. It might be acceptable, but not perfect. It should be around 750 rpm.

For my car (D16Y8) normal idle is 950 rpms. After my turbo was installed/tuned I wanted to double check if it was normal.......called Acura and they said 900-950rpm's is normal idle speed.

For the D16Y8, the Helms spec is 750 +/- 50 rpm. The closer you get to 1100 rpms, the closer you're gonna come to a hunting idle. As I said...950 may be acceptable, but it is NOT normal. So please don't spread misinformation such as this.
And seems as how Acura didn't produce the D16Y8, I'd be hesitant to agree with their guess at normal idle speed.

My car has been idling at that rpm range since i bought the car (new). I don't know what your talking about.....i guess the production plant which installed the motors made a mistake.....cuz that always happens.
