I am not sure if this is due to shaft play. But the turbo makes this high pitched sound when it boosts. Doesnt sound like nothing scraping or fins touching but wistle type sound(Loud also). I have no clue what is wrong but I know it doesnt sound normal. What do you guys think it is and is there anyway of fixing this my self?

Sounds like a boost leak.

I really hope so! I will check the piping later on today. Any other suggestions.

I had a turbo get fawked up once. The fins were all chipped but it would still spin fine. Had no boost and the thing sounded like a cat in pain when you got on it. It would whine really loud.

Thats what mine sounds like(whining loudly). There us one chipped fin but that is it. The turbo does spin freely also??Are the bearings bad?
