Is 300whp for a B18C with JRSC possible?
OK, I know turbos produce more power etc etc easily so please refrain from flaming this thread as I think I pose a legitimate question....
I am curious if anyone has made 300fwhp (which is approx 360 at the crank) with a JRSC on a B18C ? Is this an impossible goal to reach ?
I assume that necessary setup (mine when I decide to try to do this) will include:
- a JRSC (Duh!)
- nose cone and crank pulley upgrades (with walbro pump and 440cc injectors)
- Hondata S200 (none of the dog poop piggyback crap)
- water injection and intercooling (LHT style, maybe)
- 3" exhaust
- OBD1
- CAI (Icebox)
- JG header with 3" off road pipe mated to the 3" exhaust (no cat)
Any other relevant suggestions? I was thinking:
- CTR Cams or something similar ?
- headwork and porting?
- Ignition?
- Will lowering compression with a cometic head gasket help the blower?
- Eventually, a new bottom end, I'm sure
I am not a genius when it comes to Hondas, so please let me know what y'all think.
Thanks in advance!

Re: (BoostinGSR)
Gonna take ALOT of boost from that JRSC to squeeze out 300whp.. I hear those things don't like spinning too hard so, that'll be an interesting achievment.

Re: (VTC_CiViC)
I think with the money u will be ending up spending to make 300whp on a s/c, you could have already made over 300whp with a turbo.
but damn, i can't imagine the thought of instant power with no lag.. 300whp! whoa!

yeah, thats quite a challenge it seems like...
The "naaawz" is a good idea..maybe a 35-50 shot or something.
LHT posted getting 284hp(not sure on exact figure) on a B20VTEC...I am not sure what all was done, but thats pretty darn impressive.
Of course, a turbo will produce more power easier, the JRSC may not be as high maintainance, though !
Anybody else with something relevant to say?

EpDarks - hmmm, I knew of pulleys, but not an upgraded blower. I will need to see if I can contact JRSC about this...
*EDIT* - got off the phone with Jim@JRSC. Nope - no upgraded blower. Just pulleys. I tried to see if he thought it would be possible and he suggested nawz as well.
I guess just JRSC, that would be almost impossible, but I wanna hear some JRSC veterans jump in and tell me what they think....
Thanks!

There actually is an upgraded blower: The M90. The M62 is what comes in the B series VTEC kits as well as the Prelude kits.
The M90 is physically larger, but there is some issue about the way it spins. Apparently, Jackson has some kind of patent on the drive setup in the nose of the blower that allows it to spin a certain way.
If you could make the M90 work, you'd be sitting pretty. It's 50% bigger than the M62.

Re: (Jackson4Door)
I think 300whp is very do-able.
My setup ( for those that don't know) is a B20Vtec. Stock type R head, GSr /Type R Cams , Kamakazi header, 2.5" cat back.
The supercharger is stock with one of our intercoolers. The last trip to the dyno it made 286whp when the belt snapped ( Old belt). It was still rich one the last run 11.8 AF , so with a little mote tunning I think it would have been 290+.
Since then we have designed a new header and a brand new "S" tube , I have not dynoed the car but it feels quicker. The "S" tube is much more direct with a cleaner passage to the mouth of the blower. The header is a short 4 into 1 design but uses a burns collector and stepped primarys.
To answer the question, Yes I think 300WHp is possible , but that's about it. No2 would be the next step. I am supercharger fan , The torque is the big plus with the supercharger, I make 212lbs by 4000 rpm , but this is bad for traction.
Going from a roll I have waxed many Z06s , Cobras and a few motorcycles, ( Remeber 2000lbs car) but from a light, I have trouble with mini vans till about 50mph.

Re: (Jackson4Door)
IM going for 300WHP next summer with the Liquid cooler and 11PSI......
At 9 PSI non intercooled I was at about 260WHP...
so maybe the new charger, CRazy header and some ICE might hit the 300 mark!

John - Thanks for jumping in to comment. I know 300 is pushing it, but hey, much like life, its a challenge.
I am very interested in your cooler setup and am waiting to buy a used JRSC for you to work your magic on
I will start bugging you with emails as well when I get closer....LOL

Re: (ATgrills.com)
i'm shooting for 300 mark eventually...
plans:
b18c.. stock sleeves or maybe sleeved and bored to 2.0 liter
10.8ish to 1 compression
b16 head. port + polish.. milled .020
water injection.
gsr cams
kami header.
3in. exhaust.
and i think thats it..
if i'm not close.. i'm gonna do a small direct port nitrous setup.

I must say I was stunned to see 17-18 psi on 10:1 compression ratio...
but I dunno if detonation problems are different comparing turbo and supercharged vehicles.
