whats up hondatec,
soo i have this problem ive been trying to fix forever with my ls turbo civic....when im boosting at a low rpm 5th gear for example (under a load) the boost gauge jumps all over the place and it sounds like the wastegate is opening and closing like a flutter or boost creep...i smoke tested it and there isnt any vacuum leaks the w/g is new the bov is new..idk wtf is goin on with it....also my brake pedal goes to the floor once a few mins after i start the car and then is fine for the time i drive it? i just put new rotors and pads on and bled all 4? ive ran out of ideas somebody please help me with this pos! the car is a 97 ek coupe dx and the rear brakes are ls rear discs

i was thinking it may be a bad brake booster? maybe a bad proportioning valve with the brakes? idk man this car has me running in circles

 

I had similar problem with the brakes, for me it was my brake master cylinder.

 

i was thinking it was the master also..but i bled the brakes and the pedal feels great...with the car off but as soon the car is on the pedal is very spongey and feels like sh*t

 

i was thinking that maybe the boost problem was related to the brakes but i have no idea

 

When you press on the brake pedal does air bubbles come out of the master cylinder into the fluid?

 

All that's happening is the boost controller is allowing the wastegate to open at whatever psi you have it set at and the gauge is fluttering. I'm guessing that's a mechanical boost gauge you have?

What are you using for a boost controller?

 

I don't have a boost controller I a synapse engineering w/g's where u can control the boost with how the vacuum lines are hooked to it

 

finally i find the cause of this problem!!!...........my freakin air filter i had on the turbo was causing this....i guess it was restircting air flow..but since i have removed it theyre is no fluttlering

 

what do you mean by the air filter. was it clogged?

 

and if yur brake pedal is goin to the floor thats a seperate problem like they said..internal leak in the mc
