I can't figure out what is causing the while smoke
I got a b16 turbo
Its running on 100 octane
Engine has good compression 155 all around.
No coolant in oil and no oil in coolant.
Spark plugs are dark, extremely rich from 100 octane untune.
Car is untune. p28 ecu with a hondata s200.
I want to figure out what the hell is this white smoke before I tune the car.
Turbo seems fine, little to no shaft play at all.
I get a gust of white smoke. cloud up the whole street kind of thing.
Can't seem to figure it out, Any ideas guys?

ha I got the same smoking problem. I changed my hg, piston rings and rebuilt the turbo but its still smoking. I was told my oil line needs to be restricted, im on vacation right now but ill let you know how it goes when I get back.
Good luck with it, if you figure out what it is lemme know.

I've had this issue before. check your oil return or you could have crankcase ventalation problem too. take off your downpipe and look at it. if you see oil in there and I mean caked in there, then oil is leaking past your seals and the oil drain should be addressed.

I have the same issue with my B16 but it's only noticeable around 4,000 to 4,500 RPM and then it gets bad. I've been told my engine is "fuel washed" where the cylinders are now glazed with fuel from running a rich mixture. I've also been told that it could be the valve seals on the head.

when does it blow smoke? white smoke is generally coolant, and your description furthers that because its actually steam and tends to billow alot.

compression test wont tell you much you need to do a leakdown..... also running 100 octane isn't really gonna make you more rich then 93, what is your setup and injector size?

Valve seales would be worse right when you start up the motor. I looked around and your compression seems kinda low compaired to what I found on a couple sites but I couldn't find a deffinate number of what it should be. Did you do a wet test with it??
If the pcv is working off vaccum opening it, wont it stay closed if you have a turbo??
x3 leakdown test

Re: I can't figure out what is causing the while smoke
I dont have a leakdown tester.
Valve stem seals are basically brand new, probably have 20 miles on them. Replaced it when I put in a thicker headgasket to lower the compression.
Pistons are dry as hell. Car is going in for a tune today, maybe its the high octane?
Its running 100 octane on a p28 untune.
