How much venting do I really need? Another catch can question...
Looking at the Go-Autoworks kits... Stuck between the S can kit and the GT Can kit. S can has 2 valve cover vents and a return... GT has 4 valve cover and 2 crank case...
The build is a 600whp d16 with lots of boost... Opinions?
Thank you very much!

The D-series cover needs some work in order to vent properly.
The car in the pic made over 700WHP with a simple catch can setup.

I really like that picture too, just pointing out that its bigger than the typical lines people run for catch cans. A big line like that would keep the air velocity down. Just wanted to add you would probably need 4x -10 lines to equal the volume of that one.

i imagine they did one large line like that because with that much volume it would stop the syphoning action that can happen with smaller lines

2 off the back of the block... go autoworks sells the plugs with an an6 male fitting machined in and a black box plug
And 2 off the head
Don't drainback as those bypass vapors are horrible for healthy engine oil. Put a filter on the box and then a petcock On the bottom so you can empty the can

I hate the ones off the back of the block, they just syphon oil out of the block, stupid *** design, people making these kits need to design anti syphon system. You can use the stock black box in stock location and weld bungs onto that and it vents the crankcase very well and you wont push out into the can.

I think the ports on the back of the block will work alright if you just put the can up as high as possible in the bay. I had mine like this, and didn't have any issues. I did notice a little oil in the lines, but that was because the line would dip slighly below the height of the port when exiting the block. Other than that, I wouldn't get anything in the catch can.

What I just did.....Getting the freeze plug out from the original conversion to block plugs sucked.

Off topic, but I hope that fuel pressure regulator isnt only held on to the fuel rail by the fitting

Not mine..I wish...
I was just fronting the pic from the earlier post instead of a link, so everyone could see what the drooling was about.
I'm using the retrofitted stock box now..With BR Fittings small square can.
(which I wish was round, aesthetically)
No Drain...haven't checked to see how much in there yet.

For those that don't know, the engine picture is SpeedFactory's D16 car.

Keep it simple, like in the picture, vent the valve cover and call it a day.

Ha. Hense the reason I come here for advice. I'll stick to audio as a profession and let the mechanics do their thing. Stuff beyond electronics, suspension and bolt ons that is...
Thanks everyone!
