Default How much boost on my setup?

Car: 2000 Integra GS-R

Setup:

- Precision SC61 Turbo
- OneFab "Equal Length" Turbo Manifold
- OneFab 3" Downpipe
- Spoolin Performance Dump Tube
- Front Mount Intercooler w/ Piping
- Cometic Head Gasket
- ARP Head Studs
- Race Engineering Block Guard
- Hondata S200B
- Tial 38mm Wastegate
- Tial BOV
- SS Braided/AN Fitting Return Line
- Skunk2 Intake Manifold
- Thermal R&D 3" inch Turbo Exhaust
- Carsound 3" inch cat
- Walbro 255 LPH Fuel Pump
- RC 550cc Injectors
- AEM Hi-Volume Fuel Rail
- B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator w/ Gauge
- Skunk2 Intake Manifold
- GReddy Turbo Timer
- GReddy Profec B Spec II Boost Controller
- GReddy Boost/EGT/Oil Pressure Guages
- Autometer Full A-Pillar Tripple Pod
- ACT HDSS Clutch
- ACT XACT Streetlight Flywheel

I wanna hit around 300wHP at first. How high do you think I can boost my Stock block GSR with ARP Head Studs, Thicker Cometic Head Gasket and Race Eng Block Guard?

I was gonna get the bottom end built but I guess that won't be happening for awhile. Let me know fella's. I know there are many on this forum that have alot of experience and knowledge about Turbo'd Honda's.

Start off at whatever your wastegate setting is, and then slowly bump it till you make 300 WHP. I can't see that taking more than 10-11 pounds of boost, and with lowered compression that should be fine on the GSR internals.

Ok, scratch the 300wHP goal.

I know a couple people who ran 10lbs on their Stock block GSR for over 40k miles without a problem. I'm sure the Head studs, thicker head gasket and block guard will make it more durable. How much boost do you think this setup can take?

on my b18c1 in my civic i made 290 @9psi with a t3/to4e, hondata, and just a regular manifold. Your setup is clearly better so I'm thinking no more than 9 pounds.

^^ That's good news to hear.

But I wanna know how high I can boost on that setup without risking too much? 12lbs? 14lbs?

8 psi daily. 12-14 on race gas occasionally.

dont need headstuds or headgaket yet.

wait till u blow a headgasket then just get another oem gasket with some head studs.

yeah i'm kinda on the same boat.

I have a smaller turbo (t3 ish) so in order for me to reach 300whp i'm going to need to boost about 12-14psi.

is the PSI or WHP the determing factor of what a stock gsr motor can take?

whoa whoa whoa....dont' scratch the 300whp goal. Its teh only meaningfull goal you listed. It could take 8psi...it could take 12psi. IF 300whp is the goal then make 300whp. its simple.

300wHP would be good. A little more would be better. Basically, I want to squeeze the most power out of the setup I have without blowing the motor up, and I need a ballpark number of how high I can boost.

I hate these posts....grrr. It doesn't matter how much you boost. Do you know what boost is...it's air being forced into the engine...you think that really does anything.....NO! The only downside to running boost is the more boost a.) the faster the turbo wears out b.) The more heat is generated and c.) the more blow-by on the piston rings. Boost doesn't kill an engine improper tunning and HP on internals does. if you make your 300WHP on 5 PSI or 40 PSI it doesn't matter as long as the tunnig is in check. The thing is PSI is a general range of horsepower. Obvisouly at 40 PSI you will being at a very high HP and you'll blow your engine.

To recap. PSI is not really a factor except those things I listed (and a little more..but you get the gist) Look at HP. too much HP and bad tunning are when things break. GL I hope this helped.

With the higher compression of a GSR the only problem is it's harder to tune. 300WHP is good number to start with. Once you get some internals done then you could easily do 350+
