how much boost with....
i am going to rebuild a d16 for turbo. I was looking at getting JE/SRP pistons with eagle rods. how much boost can i run with this set-up? No sleeves and maybe a block guard. Fuel management will be the afc hack for now and hondata later. i am also open to any comments about my selection of rods and pistons. I heard eagle rods are good but i am not sure about JE.
almost forgot, JE pistons c/e is 8.5:1. sorry so long

You can do about 10psi w/afc hack. Once you get the hondata I would turn it up to about 15, if you get sleeves thats a whole nother story. Just make sure you get everything tuned, even the afc hack.
thanks for the reply. does anyone have any other suggestions? i think we are also going to go with gear based boost control with the avc-r. 7 psi in first and 10-15 afterwards.
does anybody else have this set-up? does anybody recommend JE/SRP pistons?

<-- 12 psi on afc hack, no problems...i think since you're getting rods and pistons, you might as well resleeve the block. you'll be spending so much $$ on gaskets already might as well do the entire thing now. just my $.02
btw: turbodcx ran 16psi on stock sleeves w/ rods pistons (crower and 8:1 arias i believe)

Sleeves are not needed for anything under 400whp. Block guards are not needed as well. Piston/Rod combo and good tuning, you can run around the 500whp mark with no problems. Skip on the afc all together and go with the hondata from the start, you'll save money in the long run.

i would like to go with hondata from the start, but we have to see how much $$$ we have left in the budget. I'll keep everybody posted. anybody else with any suggestions?
problem with hondata is that i can't tune it myself. I don't know anyone in san antonio who can tune it for me.
