Default How do you clean ........turbo parts..

how do you clean the insides of the intercooler? and the turbine?
any help appreciated!

You shouldn't have to clean the inside of your I/C.

probably run some sort of carbon cleaner through the system. that should clean out the turbine.

That reminds me... I was thinking that after buying a used turbo it wouldn't be a bad idea to run some really strong solvent through the bearing section to try to clean out any coked up oil left over from the old owner abusing it... any ideas?

just watch out that you don't corrode seals or anything.

Don't use a solvent, use Gunk motor flush. Basically block the oil port, fill with motor flush, let sit overnight, and flush with motor oil. You will be suprised how much crap comes out. The motor flush is supposed to be safe for all oil seals.

Would any of you guys consider the Slick 50 engine treatment or could that be bad news for any components on the turbo?? as far as seals, etc....? Thanks

i wouldnt use it for turbo internals but i use brake cleaner to clean a lot of parts... it works wonders
