How can I tell if my bov is broke
Just wondering cause for some reason mine is not working at all. I can't figure out why. I have everything hooked up fine the top vaccum place to a good vaccum source. It seems to be adjusted right. Anyone with any suggestions. BTW it is a Greddy type S Bov.

remove it open it up and check if your piston has something holding it.

Doesn't the turbo make a weird sound if there is no BOV? The air pressure at the TB increases rapidly, and the only place for it to go is back out through the compressor through the air filter which tears up the thrust bearing.
You should be able to hear the strange noise of the air exiting backwards through the compressor, or see the boost spiking on your boost gauge if its not working.

Re: How can I tell if my bov is broke (Patch)
Yeah I know it's not working cause I can hear it flutter when I get off the throttle. Need to see what it could be and how to fix it. Thanks for the info, anyone else

take it off the car and inspect it.... push on the piston to make sure it can move freely (should be pretty tough to move). Open it up and check everything out. It's a fairly simple device.

Yeah I took it off and I did inspect it. Piston move when I push it in, though it is a lil tough to move.
