Honestly - What turbo? Vitara build
I've built myself what I thought was a nice "budget" build for my DD.
D16Z6
75.5 Vitaras
TT rods
ACL bearings
OEM HG
OEM WP
OEM TB
Zex cam
Comp Cam springs + retainers
Supertech valves
After doing a little bit more reading, I've found my compression to be 7.5:1
The turbo setup I chose was a garret t3/t4 .57 trim turbo, log mani, 3" dp / 3" kteller exhaust, tial 38mm waste gate.
I don't really care about dino #'s. I want a decent DD, and decent 1/4 times
I don't want to be a slug for the first bit of each gear
Suggestions? Anyone else running this similar setup?
I'm probably going to have the head ported / polished.
Other then that I think thats it in terms of machine work.

Will do.
Anyone have input on this build though?
I know i'm not the only one runnin' this setup.

Re: (Xathine)
gt2860rs or gt2871r if you have money. It will perform on a d16.
t3 super 60 if you want something similar but not bb.
Im running a t3/t04e 50 trim, .48 ar and i like it. full boost by 3500rpm.
I used to have a t3/t04e 60 trim. Laggy as hell but pulled hard uptop.
I am goign for a gt28 myself now once i retire the t3/t04e.

Shouldnt be a problem... Speed Factory EG (JFK78) has a Vitara/Eagle build that should be also in the 7.5:1 CR. They use a t3/t4 57 trim turbo and they run 10's all night with 138+mph trap speeds...
If you want more compression ratio you should have gone with our Custom length D16 I beamm forged rods.. It bumps the CR to 8.5:1 on the Z6 with Vitara pistons.

James' dyno graph has a nice nice curve. Prolly one of the best I've ever seen for a dseries for average power.

Your custom length rods were not available when I put my bottom end together.

I would recommend a "Disco Potato" for your setup - because you mentioned you want a nice DD and not a dyno queen.
Ditch the 57trim - that 7.5:1 compression with that size turbo = sleepy time until 5k rpm.
Any GT28 will be good.

sorry, yes, it is a Bullesye Power 50 trim .70 a/r I am referring to. I've sent out several for SOHC builds with great feedback. I personally think the 50 is a great fit for the D series.
