Default Hondata + EVAP

Ok.. so my hondata setup has a tiny little hiccup in it on a regular basis when I'm just cruising at a constant speed and I've heard people talking about unhooking the evap control valve which I believe is the valve that goes to the charcoal canister.. some kind of emissions BS. Anyone done this or know anything about it or even where to find it? hehe I have a 00 Si w/b16.

I found a thread in their forums about it and I think they posted it somewhere in their "tech" section. I just got back from the hondata seminar and doug was saying that if you have trouble starting your car after a previous run to disconnect the valve.

I've had trouble starting my car from time to time so I'll try this out and see what happens. I don't know about the hiccup in your car though

i think its related to larger injectors.. somthing with running in a loop at partial throttle.. don't know enough details though..

the emission issue i hear is related to start up problems..

I don't know about the hondata, but I know that the evap (code 90-91) is only an obd2 deal. I know that hondata are obd1.

I have that issue after going to a 3bar map sensor. From what I can tell it may be caused by the lack of map resolution. When i richen my mixture it goes away but then i have to cruise rich.

When I cruise anyhting leaner than 12:1 I get a tip-in hiccup but the wideband doesnt show a lean condition. The tip-in fuel adjustment doesnt seem to make a difference.

It seems to happen when the map makes a big jump between values.

My friends GSR has this problem, we've been trying to sort it out. Hondata replied to his post on the Hondata site
http://hondata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=745

basically, it's a real pain to tune the left edge of the map (no load) so it ends up being too rich. When you go from closed-> open loop you get a stumble. There are several solutions for this posted, I won't restate them. But be aware that there may be a problem with earlier versions of the Hondata ROM that caused this problem to occur.

Basically you prob need to tune that section of the map/adjust when the closed/open loop switches.

I only run open loop, so i dont think its related to the switch over. On mine I have the problem isolated to the 3bar map. Its not a misfire just a brief hesitation.

It may not be the switchover, but it probably is a tuning issue... we're running the 3 bar as well... it did it on both MAP sensors, and when we were in open loop only (running the wideband). Like I said, haven't got it yet...
