help wastegate issue!!!
Well the main problem is i am having boost control issues... wastegate works fine when using just the spring but when trying to increase boost with boost controller or the hondata boost control just hits the boost cut... i am suspecting the wastegate is the issue... its a tial knock off 44mm wastegate with a brand new tial diaphram .... my real question is, is it normal for the wastegate to leak vacuum out of the top port of the wastegate? I have the bottom port connected to the intake.... seems odd as i dont remeber it doing that before... just need to control my boost and not sure if its a controller issue or the wastegate since the wg runs steady 9psi fine but when trying to raise the boost wont hold a steady pressure

I had a similar issue with my Supra using a knock off Tial 44. I found out that the diaphragm was put in backwards, which allowed small pin-holes to form. Just a thought.

Yeah, I read that. Just saying that it might be backwards or at least check it. Knowing how the wastegate is designed I don't see how it can be leaking vacuum out the top unless the diaphragm was damaged. The big difference between the knockoff and Tial is that the Valve stem is coated with graphite to prevent it from sticking.
same symptoms as what my car had, running 1.2 bar it was fine. Any more and the boost fluctuated.

For the sake of the argument and if you don't want to buy a new wastegate without knowing. Can't you borrow one of someone to test it or see if any shops selling wastegates got a testing unit that they can test on your car?

Get a pressure tester of some sort, or make your own. A simple air compressor push-in fitting, tee w/flow valve & gauge, and nipple to connect it all to the top port. If it holds 15psi w/o issue, you know its probably the solenoid.

i have tryed 3 different boost controllers on this setup with no luck.... also a electronic one as well with no luck at all.. have used turbo xs manual boost controller the turbo xs hp manual boost controller, a cheapo ebay boost controller and the hondata electronic boost control non of which worked at all... as soon as i hook anything to the top port the car overboosts like crazy... thinkin it may just be time to buy a tial... not sure what to do now..
