Default Help with selecting new turbo

I received my new manifold today. It is for a Honda D-series and has a T-3 flange. Originally I was planning to swap out the T-3 flange for a TD05 flange, in order to continue to use my DSM TD05, but from looking at the manifold this will be difficult. If I weld on the TD05 flange I will have no room for my bolts and I will be in the same boat I am now, with constant exhaust leaks due to a poorly engineered collector. (Recall that I hand made my current manifold) I am also swapping the Honda flange for my Kia Mi-Tech flange, but this is a non-issue because the ports are identical to within a millimeter.

So I am seriously considering losing the TD05 and installing a T-3. But I know nothing about the T-3 and need help deciding what I need.

My current setup:

DSM TD05
hand-made manifold, inverted configuration
hand-made downpipe, IC pipes, etc.

For the T-3, I will want the following characteristics:

-Oil lubricated and water cooled

-Internal or external wastegate: Don't care, but internal will save me money.

-Small compressor housing so I can use it in the same inverted configuration, with a smaller inlet. I have seen some T-3's with huge inlets, and I have to use a full intake system because I have a MAF sensor, and this system must clear my upper radiator hose.

-A universal turbine housing so I can source the flanges easily and modify my existing downpipe.

-My target horsepower is unchanged: 145 - 160 hp at the flywheel. I will be using 24# injectors, an S-AFCII, and I cannot increase fuel pressure in my car.

-Target redline is 7000.

-Of course, I would like something that will spool quickly and won't have issues with boost spiking.

Right now, I am thinking the smaller .42 A/R compressor T-3's might be my best bet, but I want expert opinions.

i'm not sure of the displacment of the motor but i'd say a T3 Super 60 would be the best bet for your target HP, it's a .63 hot and .60 cold, or you could find someone to make you a T3 with a .48 hot side and the Super 60's wheel and .60 housing if you want a little faster spool

Oh, sorry. it's 1597cc's.

A super 60? Aren't people making like 400 hp with those?

MMk. I don't know anything about this turbo:

But I like the look of it. Water cooled, small compressor, and a V-band downtube is nice. I have no idea what trim it is and neither does the owner.

Anyone seen one before and know if it would be as good or better than my TD05?

you can support those power goals with the smaller OEM t25/28 turbos from DET's.....very little lag, internally gated, but will not make a lot of power though. it wont fit on a t3 turbine flange though.

Yeah, that is the problem. My turbo works just fine, but my manifold sucks. Got a new manifold thinking I could swap the flanges but the collector is too big for the TD05 flange. So I am looking for a T-3 that will be comparable to my TD05. (Maybe even flow a little better in case I some day want to turn it up)

No one?

Let me narrow it down then. Does anyone know the specs of the Saab 9000's turbocharger? It appears to be a T-3, and is very compact. The engine it came off of was 2.2 liters.

A pic:

Or, there are these Ford units that come in .48 and .63 compressor:

Which also appear to be water cooled, compact, etc., but which have compressor flanges that may need to be custom-made?

I also like the look of this one:

Because I know it would fit, and it meets all my other specifications. It's a .48.

But I still don't know which compressor size will be best?

Well, I decided. I picked up the last one. I hope .48 is better than .63 for my small engine and hp goals.
