Help me make an 11sec civic
Hey guys i'm new here. i recently turbo'd my Mazda Protege & popped the motor. So I'm rebuilding it back to stock. My dad & I want to build up a 11 sec Civic. I've been reading some of your guys posts & I'd like to know something.
What is the best motor to have boosted? and what is the best turbo kit? I was thinking a GSR motor B18c5 motor. We were going to put Forged internals in, steel crank, darton sleeves , port & polish the head. Into a 92 or 94 civic. Ya'll have a lot more experience than I do so I deff apreciate everybodys help

if your going to rebuild the motor id suggest starting with a gsr (b18c1) motor. ****, everything you just said and a full-race turbo kit should get you 11s.
hey thanx bro, ok I have that part covered is there anything else i might be missing. I've read about Hondata S200. Does it come pre-programed or do i have to get it tuned?
About the Full-Race turbo kit what stage is better? I'm thinking of going Stage3 with AC Will that do it. Also i see they don't sell engine management
i am by no means an expert on this, my car isnt even together yet, lol. Im actually going to be running a 2 liter gsr sleeved pstons rods ect with a precision sc61 and hondata s200, looking to get into the 11s. Looking at the power ratings for those kits, id say the stage 2 should be able to get you into the 11s, but if you are ever thinking of going with an all ***** out race car, id get the stage 3.
With the hondata, you have to buy the system, get the connectors soddered into your ecu and get it tuned. Most places you can buy the s200 from can include basemaps for whatever injector size and ecu you plan to run (im going to be running a p28 with rc750), but you should NOT boost on those maps. You should be able to get the car running and drive it to wherever you are getting it tunned.
I hope this helps, let one of the more experieced guys chime in a help you out

you can run 11's with 300-350whp on a stock b series motor....it has been done tons of times. A sleeved built motor should have no problems making 450-500whp and thats enough power to run 10's if the car is dialed in. The full race kits are def sick. If all you want is 11's any of there kits (even stage 1) will provide plenty of power to run 11's.

ya start with the gsr motor for sure. the b18c5 costs more and just really comes with higher compression and some other things that youll be replacing anyways. upgrade internals and like everyone else said full race kit should suit your needs.
Appreciate all the help guys. Where is the best place i can buy Hondata?
I think I'll go with the Stage3. I'm going to make this a street/strip car. The reason i want the AC is because after i build it more than likely I'll park the Protege & have the Civic as my daily driver
