Turbo motor break in
Hey guys.
My buddy suggested that i break my new motor in prior to installing the turbo kit. ANyone have any other suggestions? He thinks i should put my new built motor in with stock I/H/E, break the motor in, then put the kit on. This way if there is a problem with the motor, we can more easily detect it? TOo much work if you ask me, but if he's right, maybe that's what I'll do. Please help.
THanks.

How can you run a fully build turbo motor with I/E/H ??? What your compression ??? I don't think it is a good idea.

That is what i am going to do....run my "fully built motor" and new clutch n/a until i feel "satified" with the break in then i will slap my turbo stuff back on ......besides i was boosted before the build....this will give me a chance to appreciate boost once i go back....

I wouldnt run the fully built turbo motor with I/H/E AND turbo kit. Obviously wouldnt work. What I was saying was....break the motor in w/out the turbo kit, then after the break in period, put the turbo kit on. To me it doesnt matter, but if one decision outweighs the other, I would definitely consider it.

your going to want to break your motor in without the turbo kit if possible ...also with stock injectors and a factory computer
1. theres going to be slight metal in any motor thats breaking in and you can mess up your turbo.
2. if you use larger injectors and the car isnt tuned perfectly you can "wash" the cyliners with fuel and the motor will burn oil and smoke.
if its lean you can also do some damage

Re: (00IntegrAllmotoR)
if u gonna break a motor in with a turbo kit...tune it...you always hear from ppl do 500mile this and 1000 miles that...its always better to run on a tuned motor then a untuned motor while breakin it in...i done both turbo kit with a fresh 2.0ltr built motor untuned for 1k miles and different car after built block ran NA 1k miles and then boosted...its really hard to break in a motor without the temptation of pushin it while untuned...so tune it then break it in....
