Default Help - GSR overheating in Boost

I got a b18c1 sleeve block fully built turbo... Somehow when you smash the motor, it overheats; however when I cruise normally, it runs fine... The motor is currently at 510 hp

When you smash an engine (or any compressible matter really) heat is created due to friction of the molecules. Sounds normal to me. I am not sure why you would crush a perfectly good engine for though...

We really need more information about what is going on and more details on your setup to be of any help. For all we know you are using stock head bolts and an OBD2 ECU.

Edited your title. Next time, write something descriptive if you want anyone to help you. "HELP!!" isn't exactly a useful title

Id say the head is lifting. Probably wouldn't show on compression or leakdown.

Were the block and head resurfaced or checked b4 assembly
Were the headstuds previously used
What hg did u use
What was the tq and steps u used when installing the hg
Were they ever checked and re torqued

What does your temp get up to at full boost? My motor gets up to 200+ at the end of the track.

Answer the above questions. The condition of your head studs and the process by which you mate the block to the head are extremely important in a situation like this and most likely you are experiencing head lift because of the amount of boost you're running. My friends y8 boosted setup was having head lift under full boost. An extra 10 ft/lbs solved the problem for him. May be the same for you, may not.

Stock radiator on a 500hp motor is your main problem.

Exactly what I was thinking. Upgrade to a mishimoto and upgrade fans. Im running a fan on both sides of my radiator.

The engine shouldn't overheat under boost. It will get warmer but not overheat reguardless of the radiator type. What thermostat is in the car. What water pump how high are you revving who tuned the car. Did you take off any of heater hoses and loop of block them off.

Is the manifold and downpipe wrapped. Are they to close to the radiator without being wrapped. Turbo blanket?

No, that is not a problem assuming the radiator is in good condition.

It could be the tune, head lift, etc.

do you have water cooler loss?

is your thermostat opening at the proper temperature?

if the above are ok, there is a possibility that you have a small crack at the head, espessialy if you are loosing slowly cooler
