Default All motor 85m

my friends eg is currently an 85mm89 ls crank gsr block with Rs sleeves. Now with the all motor setup it ran 11.80s at 115 and hes wanting to go boost, can he just get some cp 9:1 and pauter or manley rods and get 600+whp or does he have to scratch that and get another block done in 84mm? The head has portjob jg manifold 74tb valve springs retainers any help appreciated.

unless its a race car then I wouldnt do it. those sleeves are to thin to make 600whp on a 85mm bore. go with 84 mm if its a "street car" expect rebuilds like once a yr if not sooner on 85mm w/boost.
also check with the guy who ported the head and ask if the port work is for turbo applications aswell becuase if he really knows what hes doing he will know that its not the same and it changes between applications. yeah you can use it but if your trying to sqeeze every little bit out then theres things to consider.
I would just sell that motor and start from scratch. youll save time and money in the long run.

85 is fine don't even worry abt. the only downside is that if something messes up you have to resleeve but hell its already sleeved.

is there really even a difference between all motor porting and FI porting.

I know what it takes for a good FI porting, and i wouldnt think that the all motor porting wold be too far from that. The springs and retainers is definatly a plus for either.

85mm is good just watch the coolant overflow and temp gauge to make sure you don't blow the HG....the area on the HG between cylinders is going to be very thin. . .
