Help an AllMotor guy
Alright, I'm back with yet another question. Good answers please, as I will be saving this thread as I am deployed for another while.
Motor- I'm building a Poorman's ITR, and having it sleeved to 84mm
Power goals- 400-450. I'll settle for 370, but no less.
Budget- $5000 or less, but I'm flexible
Turbo- That's where I need the help
Setups would be be nice as well. Manifolds, intercoolers, etc. I've got an AEBS IM, and I've grown partial to it, so I'm keeping it. Any answers are greatly appreciated

Re: Help an AllMotor guy (black_EM1)
you dont need to sleeve your block unless you plan on making more power in the future. If so i would start with something like a GT30r and go from there. You could always just buy peakboost kit or something or peice something together yourself. 5 grand really isnt enough to do a sleeved setup with a turbo system if u ask me...

Here is an ideal setup for you.
You don't need to sleeve your block but I can tell you that boosting is addicting so your gonna want more power in the future so you might as well sleeve your block now. Eagle rods are perfectly acceptable for your power application. Arizona Forced Induction, Peakboost make great manifolds at very affordable prices. If you want to spend and arm and a leg get a Full-Race manifold. I would recommend getting a mini ramhorn or ramhorn and that will leave you with some room to grow if need be. As far as a turbo it depends on the characteristics you would like. GT30 would be a good turbo. Lets see anything else?

i think the "generic" honda built block b series for boost build would apply here.
stock sleeves, 81.5mm cp/wiseco, eagle rods, stock crank, stock head, oem head gasket, arp head studs, stock tranny with a
theres many turbo choices i think the gt30r is without a doubt the best for your power goals.

Well, I'd really like a 2.0l. However, if I can do without, I will.
What about 82mm, and:

</TD></TR></TABLE>
I could do that, but will I hit 400whp?
C'mon people, help me out.

you dont need to sleeve for your power goals, but if you want to sleeve, you could bore out to 84mm (near your goal of 2.0L) which would allow you to spool a larger turbo sooner and make your car more streetable...personally i would just stick w/ an 81.5mm stock sleeve rebuild because i'm poor

gt28rs isnt gonna cut it for 400-450 if you drop your goals to 370 like you said then yes.
yes what i suggested could net you 400whp. what head are you using for this build? b16, gsr, type r? throwing some springs retainers in might be suggested if it has a lot of miles on it just to be safe but stock heads usually do the trick even at the 400whp level.

Re: (black_EM1)
ok so ure deffinitley building ur head....get some 750cc injectors...walboro 255 fuel pump, aem fpr, aem fuel rail, 2.5" piping, 650hp precision intercooler, full race ramhorn t3 manifold, sc61/gt30r/gt35r...any off these turbos will do...with the block stock sleeves are good enough for your power goal, so get some 81.5 cp pistons, eagle rods, arp headstuds, tial 44mm wg, tial 50mm bov...and ur good to go....400-500 hp imho...enough for ur goals and enough incase ur goals stretch which btw they will.

Re: (black_EM1)
cant really go wrong with a 30r if u got the funds for it. i am also building my setup for a range of about 400whp... with some room to grow from there in the future. i also havent decided which turbo but the 30r sure does sound good

After a bit more searcing, I've decided on either the FullRace GT Stage 2 kit(GT3037), or the Peakboost Topmount setup(GT3076).
While I'm searching for setups on here, any opinions?

Re: (black_EM1)
I'm wondering the same thing. What rpms would a gt30 reach peakboost on this guys set up. How much sooner would a gt28 spool up?
Both Peakboost and Full Race are very good companies and both carry awesome reputations. But if your on a budget I'm sure everyone would agree you could piece together a kit thats just as nice for cheaper.
