Head torqueing
Hey guys,
My engine is a D16Y8.
I'm gonna remove my valve cover and do a valve lash adjustment. My question is regarding putting the valve cover back on........Does anyone know how much torque i should tighten the head bolts to? I don't want to strip/break them.
Please advise, thanks.

any time i needed to torque something down below say ~25 ft lbs ive found that u are better off using a smaller/shorter 3/8" torque wrench say 70-90 ft lbs max or it likes to over torque..i use my bigger 1/2" craftsman for anything above..

Re: (bruceleeroy)
So don't use 7lbs of torque? The bolts snapped on you when you used that much?

I'll put some sealant on for sure.

So use a 3/8" torque wrench.........will do.
Thanks for the advice guys.
