NEED HELP- Valve cover Bolts snapped!
I recently took my Valve Cover off to paint it, removal went fine. When I put the Valve Cover back on I began to tighten the nuts down to 9ft lbs. They never made it, they either snapped or the whole bolt would just rotate with the nut. What do I do? I mean Im not sure what to do since its an aluminum head. Pls help.

Remove the valve cover and buy new studs to replace the ones you snapped.
I never torque these bolts because they will snap. Use a 1/4" ratched and snug them.

Yes thats true .....if you were going to torque specs I doubt you would strip the threads on the head.

Those things snap easier than tooth picks, just buy a replacement and your done. I always tighten then till you can feel they are harder to turn.

Not sure. I might have one from a spare Civic engine if they are too expensive from the dealer.
Just tape a pic of the one on your car and send it to me. I will compare it to the one I have.

http://www.hondapartsdeals.com ftw
there is no need to go more than snug with these though....there is very little force on the valve cover....

I would just tighten them until they're snug, then maybe an extra 1/4 turn. There is no pressure on the VC, you're just tightening them to seal the VC gasket.
