Has anyone use the Moates chip burner with Hondata?
I bought this burner a while back, and was told that it would work with Hondata but I havn't tried it yet.
I'm just a little hesitant to try it, because I don't want to **** up my chip.
?
Also, I don't see anywhere in the RomEditor software about which engine I have, or any diplacement multiplier.
Any help would be great...
Thanks!

I have never used the Hondata ROM editor but any BIN file that you create with it will burn the same as does the XTRONICS pocket programmer. Each is only an EPROM burner...they will take the same file and burn it the same.

Ok I'm having issues. The car is apparently in limp mode, and I'm pretty sure its because of the chip.
I'm using the flash burn program to load the file and then burn the chip.
For those of you who are using the moates burner with Hondata, could you please layout exactly HOW you are loading the Hondata file onto the chip.

Re: (91civicLX)
I have used my moates to burn bins for both Uber and Hondata.
What is the exact message it gives you when you burn to the chip?
Does it go through all the motions of a good burn and verify correctly?
On a side note, I have noticed that my moates will not burn a commercial 29c256 chip (usually will end or have a C market after the part#), but will program industrial grade chips (usually will end or have a I market after the part#).
The commercial chips are the thicker 'Oreo' chips. I am refering to Atmel parts here.

1. I First deleted the chip... It says: Erase Succeeded.
2. Then Load the file to buffer...
File Loaded: C:\Documents and Settings\Bryson\Desktop\Hondata info\Emissions setup File Size in bytes (Integer/Hex): 32768/0x8000
3. Program the chip...

PROM I/O succeeded.

Are you using the Rom Editor to burn chips? I have had issues with that so I use the pocket programmer software. Seems to work better. Probably just me.
Trust me, for tuning yourself, get the romulator. It just saves a ton of time.

gotcha. see if the injectors help. At least you could rule them out and go bigger for the future anyway.
Hopefully the problem isn't between keyboard and chair. J/K.
If you have more questions, send me a PM.

Will do!
I wasn't even on planning to keep these injectors anyways. My freind just let me borrow them since the last race of the season is on the 19th.
Needless to say he's pretty pissed right now...haha.
