H22 ignition breaking up
Just got done with my H22 build and I went out for a street tune. Idle, Cruising and easing into boost was all fine. When I began to make WOT pulls at 14psi once I hit VTEC in 3rd or 4th gear the ignition starts to break up. My plugs were gapped at .020 all ignition components are stock with NGK BKR7E plugs (we tried to sets of plugs). After tuning with what we had for driving, we noticed that at idle it has an occasional hick up in the ignition. Got the timing light out and hooked it up and it woyld occasionally flash, not like it should and that was on all the cylinders not just #1. Pulled the cap off the disributor and checked components, everything looks to spec. We are thinking it could be a weak Coil due to the fact that the timing light occasionally flashes when hooked on every ignition wire. Please give me your thoughts or explainations. I'd like to get this problem fixed before I go to the dyno. Thanks in advance!
I wanted to rule out the different thing in the ignition system not the distributor as a whole. Anyways.. I replaced the ignition coil and turns out I was right, my break up problem is now fixed.
