Default GSR block, b16 head, moderate boost. should I sleeve it?

I'm getting a GSR block and the cylinder walls have a little rust on them, and I think one maybe scared, but I'm not sure. I can get a killer deal on some brand new darton sleeves for a GSR. I want to be able to push 18-20 pounds of boost when I go to the track, but normal driving I probably wouldn't go over 12. I did a search and didn't find much info on sleeved blocks, atleast nothing that helped me. I just want to know some pros and cons to using sleeves. I'm going to use aftermarket pistons and rods, so it would make sense to change the sleeves. i want to know peoples experience with them.

I have a RS Machine sleeved B18A block and it works fine. In my old setup, with 19psi of boost I cracked the #3 cylinder walls after a few hard runs. The only "con" about an iron-sleeved block is that it will get hotter than the OEM aluminum block. In my case, I will be needing to get a bigger aluminum radiator and keep my eyes on the water temp. If you want to boost +12psi, I would suggest getting sleeves. Just make sure whoever is installing them is a reputable shop/person. You don't want your sleeves to leak. Oil + coolant = caramel <---- trust me on this one.

For me, Id draw the sleeved line at around 350whp. Some may find that conservative.

wayyy too conservative. 350whp for a completly stock block, not stock sleeves thou. . .

Im pretty sure he meant anything over 350 he thinks you should get sleeves. You can take stock sleeves up to 500 whp pretty damn reliably if you have a really good tune. You got a shitty tune, your gonna blow a sleeved block anyways. I believe it was boosted hybrid on here that is pushing over 400+ whp on stock sleeves with ease.

You can have the best tuner in the world tune your setup but if you have a weakened motor with "abused" stock aluminum sleeves....any excessive amount of boost will crack them.
