Default Greddy Type S spring mod

Has anyone done this? I've had some concern for instance when going up a hill and the car builds a little bit of boost to get up it, then at the top when i let off a little i get the "sput sput sput" which to me sounds like compressor surge. I searched google and found that EVO owners are removing the smaller of the two springs inside the Greddy Type S. This allows the BOV to open under earlier vacuum, like -16 instead of -25 (or -21 can't remember) but still holds 24psi of boost. I'm only running 8psi so i went ahead and tried it and seems to work perfect for me. No more sputtering, it actually opens and doesnt allow the compressor surge. Removing the smaller spring just allows it to open easier. Now this is only the case if you are NOT using the lower nipple on the BOV. I searched Honda-tech but found nothing on this topic.

I believe it helps the bov open after you let off the throttle. That is if its hooked up to a source pressurized source. In honda applications, most people just let that go and not connect it to anything.

I did the same with the greddy rs I had. It will surge badly if I let off on part throttle. Took the inner spring out and work flawlessly.
