GREDDY turbo kits
looking around at all the pre fab kits out there the greddy seems to be the most user friendly and complete...looks like very good quality compared to drag
couple ?'s tho...do you just plug in the "blue box" and go?
is it safe to run the kit without an IC or BOV?
does anyone have experience with greddy turbo kits?

Re: GREDDY turbo kits (JeremyL)
I personally would never run without a bov. I've ran with no intercooler before and i'll never do it again. It's so much better with a intercooler. safer and more power.
How much boost do you plan to run?

I have a 99 ls and my engine light is always on also. I have been through 2 new blue boxes from greddy and have tried someone elses, and still get misfire codes. The kit is very nice though. 13.7@103 w 2.2 60ft. stock clutch and tires

Come on dude what!!!, You have been asking for our opinions and suggestions and I gave you mine. If you read my reply it said stock clutch and tires. Just in case you wanted to know, I am running an intercooler as well as a greddy evo cat-back. The boost is set at the stock greddy setting of 8 psi...

Re: GREDDY turbo kits (falconGSR)
just seems like a very low 1/4 time for 8lbs out of an 18g turbo on an otherwise stock LS motor...especially for stock tires

Re: GREDDY turbo kits (JeremyL)
it's not so much "plug-in" for the box, you have to wire it up to you ecu.
As for running non-intercooled, I did for 6 months without any problems except for the awful turbo lag.
The BOV is a must to me although there's a wastegate. Not only for the sound, but for the extra comfort knowing that I won't have blow back.
But make sure you get the ic, I have the greddy type 31 ic and it made a huge difference in performance and temps

I have the greddy kit in my GSR but never had the check engine light come on maybe something is wrong. I have a little back fire but regap the spark plugs and it was fine. And for 13.7 in a stock LS i hope I can run that when i test my car.
