Default i'm new to this stuff

i'm thinking of soon purchasing a 92-95 greddy turbo kit for my 98 d16y8 civic and i was wondering what all i should purchase along with the kit before i install it. I know that i will need to modify the piping a bit because i have the ek chasis and i also know that i will need a BOV..what kind of BOV should i get? Also i was wondering if an intercooler would be necessary rite away if i am only running around 5psi...i will plan to run more boost later on, but i won't have the money rite away. Also i heard that this kit may not pass emmissions on my car. Is this the correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanx

-Matt

It's a good idea. If you're going with the Greddy kit you can save quite a bit of money and buy another IC then just do a little custom piping. The Greddy piping is 50mm in and out of the IC which is about 2".

I think Earl here sells PWR ICs, which are about the same as what I have and mine works great. If you have the money, Greddy does make a very, very nice IC though.

Also:
I use a TurboXS Type S BOV, which works great. They're very cheap, a little over $100.

You're right, your car will not be emissions legal, but since Greddy kits come with a carb sticker you might be able to get away with it.

When you're ready to run more boost, get a larger downpipe made, and a TurboXS manual boost controller and you'll be set.

,but could i get away with out an intercooler at first because i probably won't have money for the kit and the intercooler at the same time. Also is there any way i could pass emmissions with this kit?

I have the same setup on my '00 civic and I dont have an intercooler yet. Hopefully soon, but just don't drive it too hard especially on hot days.

No header with a turbo .. Turbo manifold is the "buzz" word, heres a pic for ya, the turbo bolts up to there, I guess in a way you could call it a header, just cause it looks similar.

Only Carb approved for use on 92-95 Civics, so technically it won't be legal if he installs it on his car.
