Default Greddy Question

I read somewhere that you can T off of the vacuum line to the wastegate and run a vacuum line to the nipple on the greddy type-s blow-off valve that reads atmoshpere pressure to eliminate any turbo shutter prior to the blow off valve opeing up. This little trick works great, but it also upped the boost. As it spools up, it will go near 8psi for a split second, and then back down close to 7psi. I've decided to leave it that way.... It works great and doesn't detonate. Anyone else do this or run into the same thing?

i think that trick is cool, but not really safe, it seems like youre boost spiking around a bit, and 1psi is a lot in my opinion.

My car weighed in at 2410 with me in it. Yea thats how I had it running today. I've been running it like that for a while now. My friend brought the drags to the track when I was already in the staging lines and about 5 minutes from lining up so I didn't use them. The last round I raced I had a .475 redlight against that car that broke. I would have won so easily too. The kid had a 1.0 reaction time so he pretty much gave me .5 right from the start.

That's a nice run! What do you usually launch at? I have a 95ex(d16z6) with a greddy kit usually running 6psi and I'm having a hard time getting launches down. It's on street tires until I get some drag radials, but just curious. Thanks for any help you can give...

I still haven't gotten that good at launching with street tires. I usually launch around 4k, feather the clutch and when its fully engaged I give it enough gas in first gear so that the tires are as close as possible to losing traction. Then when I get near redline, I shift into second and floor it.

Ah, ok. Every car I raced beat me off the line last night But I was dumping the clutch instead of feathering it. Need to practice Thanks for the help.
