Default greddy kit

I just purchased a greddy turbo kit off of ebay for about 1300 brand new

was wondering if i can run it as is without an intercooler kit with low boost (maybe 5psi?) and run it without any problems with the emanage?

you will be fine just as long as you plan on getting it tuned and make sure you do not boost more than that, 5psi is the default setting Greddy has it on. I used to have the td04 on my old SOHC. Man I missed it. Now I plan on getting turbo for my DOHC... My old car had the d16z6 vtec and I ran turbo for a couple of months w/o intercooler and blue box. after awhile I got rid of the bluebox and just bought a VAFC, best thing I ever bought.

Make sure you plan on getting an intercooler on that thing though as you will want to turn up the boost and make that 1300 investment last longer.

Oh and just to be aware once you go boost, there will be lots of money spent elsewhere... So don't think that the Greddy Turbo is the only thing you need.

I had to get mine properly tuned, bought a vafc, intercooler, hmm what else... There was more...some gauges in the car and the hood... Get a good clutch. Etc...etc... I sold the old turbo car and from this day the kid still has the car running the way I had it.

Oh and to make it more clear yes you will be fine as long as you get a really good tune. Not to Rich not too lean... Buy and install A/F Ratio gauges and make sure to connect that turbo timer too.

Well the wastegate pressure is 7.8 lbs on that turbo. Why can't you spend $100 and get a JRC intercooler? That would be much safer/better than running no intercooler. If you can't swing an intercooler, maybe you shouldn't be building a turbo car just yet.

The reason they don't sell it with an intercooler is for CARB approval, plain and simple. This is a relatively small turbo, so without an intercooler you are asking for trouble on a hot day while beating on the car. I mean, you are going through the trouble of installing an entire turbo setup, why do it half-assed? It doesn't come with a blowoff valve either, so does that mean it is good to run without one? No, it is really hard on the CHRA and wheels.

The Greddy 18G has a 7.8 PSI actuator on it.

You would have to get some new piping, but you could use much of the piping included with the kit with some mods.

i noticed in ur sig u r a tuner around teh boston area? I am in worcester county...would u be able to work with the emanage? I was actually thinkin about ditching it for crome.
