Default Greddy E-manage question

I'm considering getting the E-manage with the support tool, and injector/ignition harnesses. I was wondering how the E-manage works when controlling larger injectors such as DSM 450's. Does it just change the MAP signal to the ECU like a VAFC, and as a result throw off timing too? If that is in fact what it does, can the unwanted change in ignition timing be tuned out with the ignition harness option? Thanks.

i believe it won't advance the timing as with the hack since it has an ignition and fuel map that you can change to your preference if you have the software.

If you install only the e-manage, then yes, it is nothing more than a glorified afc, modifying the MAP voltage to get a change in fueling. If you use the e-manage in conjunction with its injector harness, it works like the EFI PMS, directly modifying the ecu injector outputs, rather than the MAP voltage. The ignition harness gives the additional advantage of directly modifying the ecu ignition output, again like the PMS. The e-manage has no ignition functionality without the ignition harness.

If I use the injector harness, would both adding and trimming fuel be done by modifying the ecu outputs? I was skimming through a copy of the e-manage manual I found online and I was under the impression that trimming fuel could only be done by reducing map voltage, whereas adding fuel can be done by both changing the MAP voltage or changing the ECU output. But in the end, does it really matter? If I can correct the unwanted advanced timing from changing the MAP signal (if I get the ignition harness), then everything is ok right?

Hrmm, interesting, from a bit of reading I've just done I think you might be right about the fuel trimming.
