AFC Timing, Fact or Myth?
Been doing some reading on the AFC hack. I understand the theory about the hack and bigger injectors, but I'm starting to hear that because your MAP voltage is so low at idle through redline, the ECU, no matter how much actually fuel you dump, will advance the timing in order to compensate for the lean condition the MAP is reading. True/False?
Can anyone shed some light on this please?
Thanks.

Just something to add, somewhat off your topic, With the Mitusbishi 420a ECUs (and probably others)
Leaning of the fuel curve (up to a point) will yield a condition where the ECU will add timing because it thinks that you are not on full throttle, for gas mileage purposes.
just something to think about ;-)

At part throttle your ignition timing is advanced. What the VAFC does is modify the map signal to the ecu so the ecu is thinking its at a different load(lower). Because it thinks this it will advance your timing. So even at full throttle I would think the map signal doesnt read at atmoshpheric but rather below it.
So I will say fact, it does advance it.

whe the MAP signal is low {meaning light load} the ECU will have more advance............normally it doesn't look at A/F ratio to determine timing.so even if it's its lean it don kayer mang!
