It isn't O-ringed. I am worried about blowing headgaskets. What kind of boost pressures are you guys running on non O-ringed blocks? I plan to run the Hondata max of 28 psi using a GE OEM overbored headgasket and AEBS head studs. Will I be OK? Any info is appreciated.

I was under the impression that bore size dictated whether a block could be o-ringed or not? At least that is what GE told me. On the larger bores they said there wasn't enough space to o-ring.
In any case, your block has a stepped deck, no? That should help a bit too.

All GE blocks come standard with the step deck. Having GE O-ring the block is done at your choice as a no cost option. You'll be fine without the o-rings.

We only use OE (in some cases overbored) headgaskets... So far they've held just fine, detonation have taken a few out but that was our fault... We've gone up to 28lbs. on ~1.96L GE sleeved non O-ringed B18C's... Duc's B18C is O-ringed and runs 29lbs.... You should be fine, Peace

They all come step decked. If you want it decked flat or with a O-ring it must be requested.

They all come step decked like everyone said. My block came back and it wasn't o-ringed. I sent GEM a copy of the order they sent me that said "I requested" the block to be o-ringed. They paid for shipping both ways. GEM

Thanks for all the info guys. I can't remember if I wrote it on the work order or not. I think it will be fine though. Just wanted to get a general consensus first.

with normal decking the tops of the cylinders are even with the top surface of the block all around. When a block is step decked, the cyls come up a slight bit over the surface of the block. This is to aid in sealing...make sense?
