can i use block guard instead of the sleeving the block? would block guard be safe enough for 10-15psi?

any motor sleeved or not, blockguarded or not, will not last unless tuned properly...Ive seen cars running stock bottome ends boosting 15psi with no problem but tuned properly...And ive seen blown motors that had aftermarket sleeves only boosting 12 psi...I personally run a blockgurad on my GSRbottomend and hold 12 psi fine...but tuned properly...If you have the money to get the sleeves..Do it..But a bloackguard will hold up fine...Friend of mine ran 18psi on stock bottom end with a blockguard...But just remember that tuning is the key...So if money is tight and sleeves cant be purchased...A bloackguard will work fine...

the blown motors you have seen with sleeves did not split a sleeve though liek blown motors with stock sleeves. yes they can both blow but the right way to do it with peace of mind is to sleeve the block. you will not split an iron sleeve like you will a stock one.
