Default Which gauges for Turbo application?

Dunno if this topic has been discussed, did a search and found no results.

Can some please suggest some gauges and which company to go with..Blitz, greddy, autometer? Something nice looking when lit up.
I plan to boost 6-9psi for daily driven.

Double pods or Triple Pods?
thanks

You would need probably EGT,A/F ratio, Boost of course, maybe Fuel+oil. I just got my turbo from Ben and I'm hooking up a J&S Dual monitor, EGT and Boost. The Greddy gauges are very nice but a tad more expensive than say autometer. The brand really depends on your preferences. As for pods, I just went with the in dash bezel.

The sizes depend on your taste... but I think most people have the 60mm? Anyhow.. I would just get the EGT, boost, and Fuel pressure. As for an A/F gauge, I highly suggest the Halmeter. It is very accurate and it responds relatively quick.

boost ,egt , oil pressure
anything above 6psi go w/ the fuel pressure and avoid autometer if possible

Why do you say avoid autometer? Are they really that crappy? I didn't buy any yet but I just have a hard time spending like $150 each on 4-6 gauges!!

I'm running a drag3 kit on a 92 gsr,

I have these Autometer gauges:
Water temp, Oil temp, Oil pressure(mech), Boost(mech), EGT, and a Voltmeter.

Also I have the Apexi Autotimer, which has a digital readout to show A/F ratios.. I prefer an actual number to the other guages with the led bars..

Msg me if you need any help installing any of the guages/senders..

autometer gauges are known to be innaccurate.

get some gauges with peak/hold or even replay.
i love my defi gauges.

I agree... If autometer gauges are such junk, how come EVERY pro stock/top fuel/top alcohol, and pretty much every sub 9-8 second car uses them?

the autometer boost gauge is the most accurate of any of them, but you get what you pay for.

Im going with greddy 52mm black EGT and Boost.
Just look for deals lately people have been doing 25-30% off greddy products. Also search in classifieds people are always selling gauges

gauges need...
my opinion....
oil pressure (honda's dont have um and should and w/ a turbo setup) the oil return can pop off and all pressure would be lost aka oil leak.
exhaust gas temp it will give you a good a/f idean and Oh yeah let ya know your not going to melt off your downpipe.
if you lose the deltawastegate i would say a tial gate might not even need a boostgauge with it (NO WAY IN HELL I TRUST DELTA'S,thats my point)

so if you can only get two its oil and egt (w/ tial)
but ideal...
oil,egt,boost and a/f
fuel pressure aint bad to add too....
budget boyz.. look into westach.com dual gauges

GOod god, you think those cars use the same $50 boost gauge that we buy? Hell no. IF you look at autometer gauges, you notice that there will be a $50 boost gauge, and a $200 boost gauge.

There a difference between their simlpe mechanical "X" gauges that they sell to the mass public, and their electrical, water filled, dual sensor, extra special, doggy fizzle, ultramatic, super stupedous, wooo hAAAA, superFLY, "X" gauge. Those that they DON'T sell to abundantly to the public.

I honestly doubt that the gauge they have in drag cars or in the nascars are the same they have in say... ... my Honda or something.

I was also told that the guages in the Nascars are special reinforced super high quality mad phat yo homey guages extra special deluxe models. Those are very expensive. Last thing you want is the mechanical oil gauge in a nascar. With the high possibility of having the oil line fed to the cabin of the car possibly rupturing in a accident. ANd if you have seen nascar. They get into wrecks quite often. I dont think they want to have hot oil pour all over the face of their driver.

Simply put... The autometer gauges used in Nascars, top FUel, yadda yadda, are NOT the same gauges that the average schmoe buys at summit racing. Look at their website, you'lll notice a $100 oil gauges, and like a $300 one.

Does autometer make good gauges??? SURE, you just need to buy the really expensive one! Which acutally is about similar price as Greddy, blitz, Defi, HKS, and other companies. Go figure

I think it has much to do with "Sponsorship", "Contingency", etc. from a U.S. performance part manufacturer. I also agree that the gauges they use are not the run-of-the-mill gauges the general public buys. Maybe or maybe not

Autometers will get you buy, but my opinion is (keeping in mind how much spent on my powertrain and turbo system) the cost of Greddy's or Defi's is not that much more for more accurate gauges. Plus they illuminate better anyways.
