Just out of curiousity, are the head flanges cast and then machined for the injector bosses and runners? From the pictures thats what it looks like.

You guys should take the flanges and throw ITBs on them so the all-motor guys don't feel left out.

I can't wait to see what the D-series one looks like. How about a some D-series exhaust manifolds to go with the intake?

This is the most true statement anyone could have said about Full-Race. Keep up the good work guys.

We do have D series turbo manifolds. Almost identical to the B series except for the flange.

didn't I see one exactly like this - but carbon fiber? as a matter of fact...I did. Here's the pic:

anyone seen the "Virtual Works vs. Veilside - FINALLY flow test results" thread on supraforums.com? it seems the raised velocity stacks impedes the airflow in boost conditions.

whats unfortunate in that test is that in the Veilside, the velocity stacks are a very small diameter, the runners are very short, and the plenum is huge. It is very similar to a JG manifold (comparison to honda). The VW manifold uses a longer runner, with a smaller plenum, and appears to do better, not just in flow but under pressure on a dyno also

the main problem with the veilside is simply the fact that the runners are WAY too short

Interresting, alot of engineers at "engineering tips" suggests having runners as short as possible on a turbo car.

It's impossible to design something fully depending on calculations....

Some say this work, some say it doesn't... It's simple -- no engines are the same, unless the part is tested on an identical setup. But a test like that will be useless because everyone here has a different setup.

Only time will tell how this manifold will perform among the various turbo combinations. IMO, most of Fullrace products are a well made and are a good buy.

the majority of people on engineering tips arent engineers, and very few have much turbocharging experience. If shorter was better, the JG would make more power than an AIR. the AIR manifold has calculated runner lengths, the JG has random runner lengths.

Well to stay on that, how do you calculate it if most setups have different temps/pressures to throw into the equation?
Have you got something that honestly works? Would you care to share, I am very interrested in the subject.

Thanks.

the best way to research this is to read. http://www.sae.org is the best plce to do research on. It costs about 10 dollars per research paper, but the money supports SAE and the authors of the papers.

I bought alot of papers from SAE, none specifically talks about turbo inlet manifold tuning, only NA, and another I bought on plenum design again on NA. If you are thinking of one specific one, please let me know I will buy it, I have no problem supporting SAE.

Thanks.

I did a search on SAE and found tons of results. Could you suggest some keywords for finding the articles you are speaking of?

Well it's clear you never did a search on SAE.
