Not so much the numbers, but the curve. I will try and get the other graph up where you can see that the spark is strong all the way up.

Once I get all the bugs worked out....time for a turbo manifold shootout

How can you tell if the spark is strong all the way up?

You can feel it and hear it. Well you can hear the engine sound like it is about to misfire. Sometimes it will misfire...other times motor will sound to run rough from 6k on.

Im fairly sure we have found the problem. MSD says to not use the hvc coil with a stock ignition, as it does not have enough time to recharge. The blaster series coils are designed to work with both msd and stock ignitions, so we're gonna try that and see if it doesnt clear it up.

Jason just put in that coil and do some test runs at 18psi and see if it misfires, we can put it on the dyno if it does not misfire - otherwise we'll keep searching.

Oh BTW I did two Hondas this week with Hondata and upper 300's - stock ignition and no problem similar to yours.

Yeah, the problem is...it wasnt misfiring at around 1.17bar with the HVC coil. I put the blaster on and no misfires either. I will try and move that gap back up and see if the misfire returns.

I really don't recommend that. If you had spark problems before, fixing them will lean the motor out. Lets wait til we get it on the dyno, eh?

So you are running the HVC coil without an MSD Digital 6+ or 6AL or anything? Just off the stock ignition? Just making sure I understand your setup so I don't run into the same problems.

Thanks
Ben

Yeah...what I was saying...I wont have any way to tell unless she gets on the dyno and bump the gap back up and see if the misfires go away at higher boost.

That is correct. I originally had the digital 6, and HVC coil installed and was going to run my speedpro. No speedpro tuner local, I went with the hondata and was told to remove the digital 6 box. Tried it with the HVC coil and it is blowing out spark after 18psi ish. Also, come to find out, msd says to not run the HVC coil on stock ignition.

Damn. Didn't expect the build up to be that fast lol! Its been only a year since I spoke to you on phone about my conv harness (DA). At the time you were tryin to get your hatch to drive.
Im diggin the setup! except the HVC, and the hot charge of that turbo (change your sn on TR?)

Why no Digi6 + Hondata? How would it interfere?

Yeah, I graduated from college and took a couple months off to finish it. Thanks for the props man.

My tuner has had problems with that setup before. I am going to try the ss coil and stock ignition. If that doesnt work I will try stock ignition. If that doesnt work, then I will try my digital 6.

I dynoed today and my first pull was only 420@19psi compared to 484@19psi a few months back. If I remember correctly it was low 70's when I dynoed at Jotech and 103degrees today. So I'm sure you will make better numbers when it cools down in FL.
