Fresh off the dyno....
Updated with some more pics
First and foremost, this project has taken me 2 yrs to finish it. Thank GOD, wife, Mom, John(vapor trail) at secret services and everyone else that has helped me along the way.
Setup:
B18c-stock bore
9:1 pistons
JG race head
Edlecrock intake mani
SFP race mani
T4 60-1 58 hot and 70 compress
3" dp
Hondata S200
75lb injectors
Now for the problems:
The car would not boost over 18psi without it misfiring. I am running the MSD HVC coil, MSD cap.
So the dyno graph above is for 17-18psi. Does that seem kinda low for my setup?
We had to drop the gap on the plugs to .22-.24 to keep it from misfiring at 18psi. The car was misfiring at 16psi so we dropped the gap to .25. That held the boost. Now we cant get it over 18psi w/o blowing out the flame.
Here are some more pics of the car. Thanks for your help.
My very own custom rear LCA. Even added my initials.
CX emissions certified

Hey, are you QuickCivic on TR? It's looking good. Sounds like you have quite a few problems to work out. Ever think about going back to OEM?

I am 60-1 EK on TR. I am going to try and get a stock distr and see what happens. The graph that I posted you can see the curves slowing falling off as the spark is getting weak. The curves are much more linear at 16psi. Around 17-18psi, the curve starts to take a dook.

Good luck with your problems. I hope to see you around. I will be up at Secret Services after work Friday.

Your hatch is sexy as hell
So you are only running the HVC ignition coil or are you running it with the HVC Professional Racing Ignition Control? If not, that could be why you keep blowing out the spark. For 17-18psi you are putting out some good numbers. I had the same problem when i tuned my car originally, my stock coil and ignition could not support over 14psi and my power seemed to go downhill from there...

Thanks man. I have the digital 6 ignition, but I was advised to remove it. So I did and left the MSD coil on there. So that power seems good for that setup and turbo? I was thinking it seemed about 20-30hp low.

Yes, i was thinking it was just a tad bit low as well for a t4 with those trims. I can almost guarantee it is due to the fact you are not running an ignition unit. The coil is good, but you need hte unit for the spark amplification you are lacking. I had the exact same problems at 14psi and we could not push out any more power due to blowing out the spark and misfire. I would go ahead and invest in the HVC pro race ignition control module and head back to the dyno. You should be able to put out 400 to the wheels easy with the ignition and maybe a few more psi of boost. Are you planning on running a higher octane by any chance?

Yeah, I am definately going for more boost on race gas. Those numbers are on pump gas...93 octance.

Re: (jdm_kenji)
Good numbers, but i wouldn't recommend the hvc coil without an msd ignition. The simplest best setup you can run is the blaster ss coil by itself. THe stock ignitier doesn't really have enough juice to push the hvc coil if you know what i mean.

Re: (TurboTegB18c)
#'s might be kinda low, i thought mines were low, but alot of other factors come into play with it. If you got the digital 6, RUN IT. I'm running the digital 6 now with zero problems. I've had alot of problems with the digitial 6 in the past with the blaster ss coil, but with the hvc coil, i've had no problems at all..

I was kinda thinking that too. Seems like a coil like that would need more charge time than the OEM ign will give. In that case, the Digi 6 might work assuming it does not cause interferance with Hondata as I've seen in the past. At this stage, I'd like to try just a plain ole blaster coil or a stock distributer and see if that doesn't lick the problem. Blaster coils are cheap, like 40 beans

Nice!! I was making 387@16 pound on stock ignition. Mine won't go past 16 pound without msd. Then I put on my old 6AL with blastercoil and it went smooth past 20+. My gap is still .038 right now and no problem.

Re: Fresh off the dyno.... (Prod)
my friend has a similar setuip...stock bore/sleeve gsr motor, 9:1 je's, jg intake, stock gsr head/cams, msd dig6, aem ems, and a t3/60-1
on 18psi he dynoed 381whp 280ft/lbs....this was on a mix of 3 gallons 118, 1 of 93...tuned kinda conservatively at 11.5ish a/f.

i had simular problems with a miss last time i went to the dyno.i tried several diff plugs and diff gaps.then i threw in some zex plugs and the miss went away.
