Smh, people wonder why im religous about plug reading and actually looking over a motor after a few pulls... shame shame shame..

If you need a good tuner, let me know.. I can put you in touch with someone in your area

Sounds like a parts assembler not an engine builder and a **** poor tuner.

True, but the student must be willing to learn. And since both the builder and tooner blame the customer I'd bet they are incapable of learning, even the hard way.

Just to add this into the mix:

Those timing numbers don't mean a damn thing and unless you were tuning it and have actual ignition values, you don't know how the timing is going to swing. Especially if the base timing was not sync'd

Additional theory:
With rods that tight, they will build heat. Heat travels through conduction and increases base heat of the metal.

There is more than the tune that "helped" this to happen.

Oh, theres no doubt the building was to blame..majority, the tune finished it off.

Yea, cause of me LOL

I went ham on ol JJ Motorsports for a **** poor building for the OP and he completely tried to spin it around on the OP as if it was his fault.
Those clearances were as tight as a rat's butthole.. and everyone got a good laugh when he tried to clown on me.

DDTECH is always down to help people, especially if a supposedly "reputable" shop screws someone over.

Our community tends to look after their own, as long as you aren't a total douche-waffle

Again thanks for all the input guys. I am no pro I am only a hobbyist but I am a good study and learn quickly. I have used all the input I got from HT as well as my own research. Honestly I did not know nearly enough about engine blueprinting and oil clearances as I should have. This time I'm putting my knowledge to the test and building this engine myself. Right now the block is at a trusted machine shop. I measured the cylinders and found number 3 was 3 thousands out of round and the others had bulges and tapers around 2 thousands. It will be honed to 85mm for my new low compression Supertech pistons. I will be using Honda bearings as the sizes ACL offers will not land me in the .0017-.0020 clearance range that I am shooting for. I will post more pics as things progress.

Thanks DDTECH. I sent you a PM as well.

I highly recommend you flush that crankshaft extensively. The ***** that plug the oil holes in the crank accumulate lots of sludge. If you take a can of brake clean with a kink in the straw you will see what I mean....

Thanks to everyone who offered me good advice. My car is tuned and up and running strong. My build came out extremely well with no issues at all. And the tuner did an amazing job programming a very streetable and powerful map. I am thoroughly impressed. I have never had a turbo car before and now I am hooked!
