Default FMIC w/o Turbo

I was wondering if it would be bad to mount my FMIC w/filter on the inlet and run piping to my TB. I might be able to use a heated shop over the holidays but I don't have my mani or injectors yet. I won't have them to around Feb and want to get as far ahead on this project as possible.

Hmmmmm need more info. If you dont have a turbo you cant run the intercooler. You can mount the intercooler to the bumper support and maybe run some piping but you will need your intake for air.

Are you mistaking the Front mount Intakes that look like an intercooler for the actual real intercooler? Otherwise, a FMIC without a turbo is not only a waste of money but quite retarded. I'm saying this to steer you straight, not to flame.

I just don't want to waste any free shop time. I have a turbo but no manifold/injectors yet. I guess I'll just wait until I have everything

he is asking weather he could install his FMIC and run the pipeing with the bov to it from the throttle body. in theory yes u can do this. it will give u no hp gains and may even restrict your air flow. and u would have to have a pipe to run to your airfilter which would then become usless after the turbo install. if i was u i would mount the fmic and fab all of your charge pipes. that way u can put your front bumper back on with the intercooler installed. just don;t hook up the pipes.

i wouldn;t recomend running the cooler without a turbo.

install the i/c. cover both ends up so it doesnt get dirt and debris in there. and use a filter on a stick(short ram intake) .

mount the IC, run your piping to one side of the IC, then throw a filter on the other side of the IC.

that would be neat....yaaaaahhh.
