Yes, it is possible for an intercooler to be too big. Besides fitment issues, after a certain point adding more cooling surface won't do anything because the air charge would have been cooled to near ambient temperature anyway. Also, yes, any added volume in the charge system will make a turbo work harder.

small front for your purposes. the side moutns are very inefficent for any turbo in my opinion.

actually i have the side mount mounted right infront of the turbo, so its technically a front mount

yeah, that's not that big because it'll still fit under the oem bumper reinforcement bar. mine is about that size on my gsr.

Would an srt 4 intercooler fit your purposes? I have a friend who used an srt-4 on his DA not sure how it worked but it worked perfect for him and it was like 150 bucks. Check out an srt-4 forum sometimes they are lying around here too.

great steal

btw that was CAD.. so itll be like 10 cents for you.

pressure drop, but that IC isn't to big, plus it leaves a little room for later upgrades

anything bigger than a size mount would not only make more power but would also be better as far as detonation. just get the 28x7x3. You wont be disappointed

care to explain how its going to make more power with an oversized IC? You can only cool the air to ambient temp therefore anything with more sirface area than what it takes to cool the charge to to ambient is pointless

Im pretty sure he said anything bigger than a side mount. A side mount is not really gonna produce ambient temps. Maybe thats why
